What inspired you to become a personal trainer?
I was an athlete growing up, thought I would enjoy helping people reach their fitness goals.
In terms of exercise, what area do you need extra motivation in? Leg day is a challenge, that’s why I do legs on Mondays.
What is the best advice you’ve been given? Hard work pays off.
What can a client anticipate when working with you?
Someone that is loyal and patient and will push you to reach your potential.
As a trainer, what can you bring that makes you unique?
Experience, I have been at Refinery for 7 years and I have a lot of knowledge.
Favorite post-workout meal or snack? Myoplex-42 grams
Favorite activity outside of the gym?
I love playing basketball and riding my motocycle.

A multivitamin along with a good diet.

What inspired you to become a personal trainer?
I was insipired to become a personal trainer as a result of spending numerous hours in the gym as a high school athlete (football, wrestling, gymnastics).
In terms of exercise, what area do you need extra motivation in?
After working my full time pharmaceutical sales job during the day and then training clients at night, I need motivation just to begin my own personal workout. Once I get started though I have enough internal drive to keep going.
What is the best advice you’ve
been given?
If you always do what you've always done, you'll always be what you've always been.
As a trainer, what can you bring that makes you unique?
I possess a combination of hands on experience (former competitive athlete and professional Natural Professional Bodybuilder) as well as formal education and training (Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology).
Favorite pre-workout meal or snack?
Whey protein and an apple.
Favorite post-workout meal or snack?
Post workout smoothie from the juice bar at Refinery.
Favorite training resource (book, website, magazine, etc)?
I often consult my Exercise Physiology textbooks from Graduate school as well as the National Strength and Conditioning Association journals.

What inspired you to become a personal trainer?
Having been obese in my early twenties and successfully kept of 70 lbs that i lost through diet and exercise, I wanted to inspire people and help them reach their weight loss goals. I know first hand the difficulties and frustrations that come with weight loss and hoped that my experience and advice could help people.
What does your workout routine look like?
My workout routine is rarely the same when I have time to map out my workouts. But if I’m strapped for time I usually do high reps with little rest in between to keep my heart rate up the entire time.
What is the first thing you do with a new client?
I put them through a relatively intense workout involving basic movements to address any biomechanical issues so that i can safely progress their workouts and push them according to their abilities.
As a trainer, what can you bring that makes you unique?
Experience. I've been where most of my clients are and I know what it takes to get people motivated and educated to make a lifestyle change for the better.
Favorite post-workout meal or snack?
A large or small myoplex depending on the duration and intensity of the workout.
Favorite activity outside of the gym? Running

I usually don't take supplements that often but when I do I take Kre-Alkalyn and Glutalyn

Jordan Rudzinski: ISSA Certified
What inspired you to become a personal trainer?
When I was In the military my supervisors always found ways to motivate me and to be better at what I did whether it was physical training or my job and when I got promoted and got soldiers of my own I strived to do exactly that with my soldiers and I loved it and it didn’t hurt that I had a natural love for the gym and working out.
What does your workout routine look like?
I do a lot of supersets and usually work at least two muscle groups during a workout with minimal rest periods in between sets.
In terms of exercise, what area do you need extra motivation in?
I’m not a huge fan of cardio and running the same speed for a long period of time , so I usually do interval runs for about 20 minutes so its quick and to the point.
What is the best advice you’ve been given?
To never let anything get you down and that if you want anything bad enough all you have to do is go out and get it, there isn’t anything that you cant do.
What is the first thing you do with a new client?
Ask them what their goals are not just with training but with life, what do they want this training to do for them outside of the gym as well as inside.
What can a client anticipate when working with you?
They can expect 110% , my full attention will be on them and what they are trying to accomplish , Im not going to tell them to do anything that I cant do or haven’t done before myself.
As a trainer, what can you bring that makes you unique?
My military background and my never say die attitude.
Is there a specific demographic you enjoy training?
People who are looking to lose weight and gain muscle.

Josh Hopkins: NSCA Certified
What inspired you to become a personal trainer?
I was an athlete in high school, my experiences with my coaches and teammates in sports such as Football and Wrestling have driven me to enjoy exercise and push myself. I decided I liked teaching new things and working with people during the time I spent teaching swim lessons and lifeguarding. I enjoy working with athletes, and anyone who has goals and wants to be driven to them.
In terms of exercise, what area do you need extra motivation in?
Until recently I have never been an avid runner, but I’ve grown to really enjoy it. But sometimes it takes extra motivation to get going, but once I do I love it.
What is the best advice you’ve been given?
“The only thing separating you from happiness, is doubting you can achieve it”
What can a client anticipate when working with you?
They can expect someone who will listen and is patient and understanding. Who will motivate you to achieve your goals, and will work with you and do anything and everything possible to keep you on track to bettering yourself as a person.
Favorite activity outside of the gym?
It would be difficult to narrow it down to one, I enjoy a lot of outdoors activities such as fishing, bow hunting, canoeing, hiking and running. I also enjoy music; one of my favorite activities is going to concerts.
Supplement you recommend the most?
Nutrition, supplementing a balanced diet with a great training regiment is the best supplement you can buy.

Valorie Rhoton:
What inspired you to become a personal trainer?
My lifetime interest in sports and physical activity! There was a time I was very overweight and I trained and taught myself how to lose the weight and keep it off. I enjoy working with individuals who have a personal goal they want to reach and a desire!
What does your workout routine look like?
I don’t have a set routine. Depending on the day, I can be found doing cardio (running, treadmill, or occasionally cycling), resistance training (free weights are my personal favorite), or most recently, BodyVive!
In terms of exercise, what area do you need extra motivation in?
Pushing myself for the final reps during my “heavy” workouts.
What is the best advice you’ve been given?
Strength comes from within…if you believe in yourself, anything is possible!
What is the first thing you do with a new client?
Get to know them! Find out what their goals are and what motivates them. I want to know what I can do for them!
What can a client anticipate when working with you?
Patience, understanding, honesty, safety, and a variety of exercises! (I do not mirror Jillian Michaels!)
As a trainer, what can you bring that makes you unique?
Since I have been overweight, I understand what it takes to achieve a goal! Also, my nursing background and my undergraduate education in Kinesiology/Exercise Science.
Is there a specific demographic you enjoy training?
Individuals who are new to exercise and have many questions! Also, with two decades of nursing experience, individuals with chronic diseases or other conditions.
Favorite pre-workout meal or snack?
“Green” oatmeal and coffee. (The green comes from my vegetable powder supplementation!)
Favorite post-workout meal or snack?
Apple and peanut butter
Favorite activity outside of the gym?
Anything relaxing! Spending time with my kids, my boyfriend, and my dog.

Supplement you recommend the most?
I don’t routinely recommend supplementation to clients other than a good multivitamin.
